Compensation & Benefits Payroll Specialist works closely with all divisions to audit and reconcile personnel actions and payroll for all assigned employees.
This position is responsible for performing HRIS maintenance, including processing daily position and pay changes, transfers, new hire input, and terminations.
This position will assist in the payroll responsibilities, which includes generating and auditing timesheet data for assigned pay groups, as well as preparing and distributing ad-hoc manual checks and hours corrections.
Altogether, this position supports the daily functions of payroll processing and ensures the accuracy and timely processing of all updates/changes as necessary.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and companies HRIS
- Proficient knowledge of payroll calculations, familiarity with HRIS payroll processing
- Ability to research, comprehend, and audit compliance to federal and multi-state labor laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Logical thinker and problem solver
- Detail-oriented with teamwork and "can-do" attitude
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and communicate with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups
Job Duties
Update and maintain HRIS systems, such as direct deposit and HR profile changes, transfers, new hire onboarding, and terminations
Assist with preparing and distributing manual checks and scheduling pending pay adjustments for direct company employees
Assist with the various recordkeeping functions of C&B, including the distribution, collection and organization of employee notices and employee files
Audit and generate various C&B reports with various HR data for analysis to support C&B functions
Respond to requests for information from internal clients (employees) and external clients (vendor seeking employment verification, etc.
)
Ad-hoc HR related projects as assigned by C&B Manager & Director of HR
This position requires moderate physical activity.
Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
This position requires nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.
Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and freezers.
