We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Biller to join our team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes.
As a Medical Biller at ABEDI, Inc.
, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of the billing process related to ABA therapy services.
This includes accurately coding services, submitting claims to insurance companies, and following up on outstanding payments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with insurance providers and clients.
*Responsibilities:*
* Review and accurately code ABA therapy services using appropriate medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
* Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
* Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for ABA therapy services.
* Follow up on unpaid claims and denied claims, including appealing denied claims when necessary.
* Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and documentation.
* Coordinate with other members of the administrative team to ensure smooth billing operations.
* Stay up to date on changes in medical billing regulations and guidelines.
* Provide support and assistance to clients and their families regarding insurance and billing inquiries.
* Communicate with Administrative and Clinical departments on unpaid & outstanding billed and claims.
* Communicate changes in regulations with Administrative and Clinical departments.
*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a healthcare or ABA therapy setting.
* Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
* Strong understanding of medical billing codes, terminology, and insurance processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle billing-related issues independently.
* Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance billing requirements preferred.
* Certification in medical billing and coding (e.
g.
, Certified Professional Biller, Certified Professional Coder) is a plus.
