Boat People SOS (BPSOS)is well-known across the Vietnamese community from the East to the West Coast and currently operating in 6 states in the United Statesand 1 overseas branch in Bangkok, Thailand.

BPSOS - Center for Community Advancement (BPSOS-CCA), formerly known as BPSOS CA, has been serving the community since 2000 as part of the national BPSOS network of branch offices.
BPSOS-CCA is a thriving resource center that provides resources and services to the Vietnamese community in Orange County.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with at least two years of experience to coordinate and develop a dynamic Adult Education program where adult learners explore and prepare to meet their academic learning, college, and career goals.
The individual in this position will coordinate the Adult Education Program and assist with other departmental programs at the Orange County, CA branch.
*Responsibilities:*
1.
The Adult Education Coordinator is responsible for improving the quality of education in the classroom by implementing adult education programs at BPSOS
2.
Plans & organizes the work to meet the California Department of Education Office of Adult Education federal National Reporting System (NRS) goals & other specific directed activity
3.
Assists with the enrollment and registration of students
4.
Oversees the administration of assessment & student placement tests for Adult Education students
5.
Communicates directly with students about class schedules, textbooks, appointments, and other related topics
6.
Represents BPSOS at various external meetings
7.
Maintains and oversees the maintenance of student records
8.
Promotes the Adult Education Program to public & private organizations throughout Orange County
9.
Creates and provides resources to students such as information packets, transition guides, and recruitment materials
10.
The Adult Education Coordinator reports directly to the Program Manager

*Minimum Qualifications:*
1.
Bachelor’s degree
2.
Two (2) years of professional experience in an educational setting
3.
Fluency in English and Vietnamese preferred
*Competencies:*
1.
Knowledge of state and federal adult education information, policies, guidelines, and regulations
2.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
3.
Decision making and problem-solving skills
4.
Data analysis skills
5.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
6.
Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
7.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
8.
Ability to do some travel for conferences, meetings, trainings, and data collection
9.
Ability to build partnerships/collaborate with organizations and institutions to enhance our mission and vision
10.
Knowledge of community needs within OC’s service delivery area
