The *Master of Business Administration Program Chair* (MBA) is a key academic leadership role within the College of Business.
Reporting to the Dean of the Business School, the MBA Program Chair is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong academic background, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of business education to drive the success and continuous improvement of the MBA program.
*Key Responsibilities:* *Program Leadership and Development:* * Provide visionary leadership in shaping the strategic direction and growth of the MBA program in alignment with the overall goals of the business school.
* Collaborate with faculty members to develop and enhance curriculum, ensuring its relevance to industry trends and global business challenges.
* Identify opportunities to introduce new specializations, concentrations, or experiential learning components within the MBA program.
*Academic Excellence:* * Maintain high academic standards by overseeing curriculum design, course development, and program assessment.
* Monitor student learning outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of education.
* Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship among faculty members within the MBA program.
*Faculty Development and Management:* * Recruit, onboard, evaluate, and mentor faculty members teaching in the MBA program.
* Support faculty in developing innovative teaching methods, integrating real-world examples, and incorporating industry best practices.
* Encourage faculty engagement in research and publication relevant to their areas of expertise.
*Student Engagement and Success:* * Collaborate with Student Services to provide a positive and enriching experience for MBA students, including academic advising and career development support.
* Oversee strategies to promote student retention, engagement, and success, both academically and professionally.
* Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages peer networking and experiential learning opportunities.
*Strategic Partnerships and Industry Relations:* * Cultivate relationships with industry leaders, alumni, and professional organizations to enhance the MBA program's reputation and opportunities for students.
* Collaborate with external partners to create internship opportunities, guest lecturers, and other real-world experiences for MBA students.
*Program Marketing and Recruitment:* * Collaborate with the marketing and admissions teams to develop strategies for promoting the MBA program and attracting qualified candidates.
* Participate in recruitment events, information sessions, and networking opportunities to engage with prospective students and stakeholders.
*Budget and Resource Management:* * Participate in budget planning and allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources to support program operations and initiatives.
* Seek external funding opportunities, grants, or sponsorships to enhance program offerings and faculty development.
*Accreditation and Compliance:* * Ensure that the MBA program remains compliant with accreditation standards and regulations.
* Oversee the preparation of reports and documentation required for accreditation processes.
*Teaching Responsibilities* The Master of Business Administration Program Chair is required to teach 2 courses each semester.
Program Chairs are expected to excel in all aspects of teaching and serve as a model for others as to how to conduct oneself in the classroom and to facilitate student learning.
This includes (but is not limited to): * Frequent and effective communication with students * Innovative and engaging instruction * Fair and consistent evaluation and scoring of student work * Timely responses and constructive feedback to student submissions * Active contributions to classroom discussions * Above-and-beyond approach to supporting student success Outside of class time, Program Chairs are expected to maintain a minimum of 2 office hours per week available to students both on campus and virtually and make these hours available to all students and staff.
However, when on campus, all full-time members Program Chairs are to make themselves available to students when not otherwise obligated elsewhere.
*Qualifications and Requirements:* * A doctoral degree in a relevant field, preferably in business administration or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated leadership experience in academia, with a focus on program management and curriculum development.
* Strong understanding of business education trends, global markets, and industry dynamics.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
* Record of scholarly research, publication, or industry engagement.
* Proficiency in using educational technologies and online learning platforms.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, industry partners, and alumni.
* Visionary thinking and the ability to drive innovation in program design and delivery.
* Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
* Previous experience in program accreditation and quality assurance is advantageous.
*Equity Eligible:* Westcliff University has established an annual salary range of $80,000.
