Friends of Willow Tree is seeking a LONG-TERM 2nd Grade Substitute.
Friends of Willow Tree is an enrichment center that offers a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th.
We have an active parent body, a supportive board of directors, and a committed faculty.
*LOCATION* Our community will welcome you to our friendly village in North County San Diego.
The town of Fallbrook has a lovely Waldorf community, biodynamic farms, study groups, and close proximity to WISC (Waldorf Institute of Southern California).
Our program serves a diverse population that might not otherwise have access to a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods.
*JOB DESCRIPTION* Our 2nd grade teacher needs to take some time off to take care of a personal issue.
She will be out from January until March (but possibly for the remainder of the year).
We are seeking an individual who possesses high expectations, a strong sense of personal accountability, a strong “teacherly” presence, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skill who will be able to take over while she is out for a few weeks.
As an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).
We look to our teachers to lead not only the children but also the parents in their education.
Our goal is to help develop a strong community that is supportive of a developmentally appropriate method of education.
