Santa Margarita Catholic High School is accepting applications for an Assistant Coach of Strength and Conditioning.
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Coach of Strength and Conditioning JOB CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Athletics REPORTS TO: Director of Strength and Conditioning PAY RANGE: $65,000.
00 - $70,000.
00 JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Coach of Strength and Conditioning is directly responsible for programming and facilitating the training of all assigned Sports teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Design and implement year-round sport specific strength and conditioning programs for all assigned CIF athletic teams.
Assist in covering additional teams when needed and directed by the Director of Strength and Conditioning or Athletic Director.
Instruct all assigned teams/student-athletes on proper exercise technique and proper safety protocols.
Responsible for assisting the Director of Strength of Conditioning with any potential Strength and Conditioning Interns.
Assist in working in conjunction with the Athletic Training Room and Sports Medicine Team rehabilitating injured student-athletes.
Communicate with assigned head coaches to coordinate weekly strength and conditioning schedule for each assigned athletic team.
Assist in enforcing weight room rules, regulations, and organization for the safety of the student-athletes.
Assist in ensuring that facilities are locked up and secure.
Assist in working with Facilities and third-party vendors to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the weight room facility.
Track the progress of performance improvements among assigned teams/student-athletes.
Assist in maintaining all strength and conditioning equipment and recommend purchases of new equipment as necessary.
Stay up to date with continued education units to maintain a CSCS Certification from year-to-year.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED: Must be a college graduate with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
CPR/First Aid Certified.
DESIRED: Master's degree.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; walk or run for long periods of time.
The employee will frequently need to understand the speech of another person; speak clearly so listeners can understand; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; move two or more limbs together while remaining in place; hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm; use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects; use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects; use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects (from 25 to 75 pounds); see details of objects that are more than a few feet away; use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
May need to adapt to multi-temperature work environments.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Daytime working hours; forty-hour work week; evening and weekend events often required.
