Cal Elite Kids is seeking a passionate and experienced swim instructor to join our team and deliver high-quality swim instruction in our traditional and gentle swim program! Our swim program's philosophy takes great pride in not only teaching children to learn to swim, but also teaching them to learn to LOVE to swim! As a swim instructor at Cal Elite Kids, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques, water safety, and confidence-building skills to children as young as 3 months old and up to 11 years old, our highest enrollment consisting of ages 2-5 years old.
You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and skill development related to water safety and swim competence.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Teaching Swimming Skills:* Plan and deliver swim lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of each individual, focusing on proper stroke technique, breathing techniques, and water safety skills.
* *Conducting Assessments:* Assess the swimming proficiency of participants and determine appropriate skill levels for placement in classes or programs.
* *Implementing Lesson Plans:* Implement the provided lesson plans that are engaging, progressive, and aligned with Cal Elite's program objectives.
Adapt lesson plan approaches as needed to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
* *Providing Feedback:* Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to participants to help them improve their swimming skills and overcome challenges.
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
* *Ensuring Safety:* Maintain a safe and secure swimming environment by enforcing pool rules, monitoring participants closely, and being prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents.
* *Communicating with Participants and Parents:* Communicate effectively with participants and their parents/guardians regarding class schedules, progress updates, and any relevant information.
Address questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
*Qualifications:*
* Previous experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard, with a strong understanding of swimming techniques and water safety principles.
* Certification in CPR, First Aid, and/or Lifeguarding (preferred but not required).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
* Patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching swimming and promoting water safety.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This particular position could be part-time, full-time, or just seasonal for the summer.
