Looking to hire a full or part-time preschool teacher.
If part time, afternoon availailabity is a required.
Basic Function: Teachers plan, organize, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, supervise children at play, maintain a safe environment, and tend to the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the children.
The teacher is also responsible for observing and assessing student behaviors, milestones, and areas of concern.
The teacher is responsible for communicating with parents by face to face conversations, email, newsletters and/or phone calls.
They also carry through various job duties such as; prepare curriculum materials, clean and organize classroom, and assist children with personal needs (i.
e.
potty, diapers).
Qualifications: Teacher must have a minimum of 12 qualified units in ECE/CD, and a minimum of one year experience working in early childhood education, be 18 years of age, a high school graduate, must be certified in Pediatric CPR, and fingerprinted through Livescan with the Department of Social Services.
Teachers must be physically healthy, able to stand or sit for long periods of time, able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push, and pull.
They must be able to see with in normal vision range with or without correction.
They must hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Teachers must be emotionally and spiritually healthy with knowledge of the Bible, have a personal relationship with God, and have the ability to accept instruction and constructive evaluations.
They must be able to positively interact with children and their families, practice guidance during conflict resolution, work as a team player with other staff members, and are able to adapt easily to change.
Teacher must always act professionally with compassion to children, families, and staff and keep all matters confidential.
They must support the mission statement, philosophy, policies, and goals of Capo Beach Church and Preschool, and adhere to title 22 regulations at all times as well as Capo Beach Church Employee policies.
Duties: Duties consist of , but are not limited to: Communicating with teacher assistants and aides regarding classroom preparation; implement curriculum; observe, assess, and document developmental milestones and/or areas of concern; maintain student records for future parent conferences; set up classroom to allow children to engage in activity independently as well as promote communal interaction; maintain an organizes work space free from clutter and hazards; assist children with bathroom needs; maintain a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing environment; Check toys and equipment for safety hazards and/or broken pieces; sweep floors, clean tables, counters, and toys; keep student cubbies organized; attend monthly staff meetings; attend school events such as fund raisers and Open House; maintain a professional appearance and dress according to dress code.
