Are you passionate about helping students improve their English reading, writing, and vocabulary skills? We are a well-established afterschool program located in Chino Hills, dedicated to providing high-quality education to students from 1st grade to 8th grade.
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Reading and Writing Teacher to join our team for our Saturday English class.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to the needs of students in grades 1-8
- Provide individualized instruction to students to improve their reading comprehension, writing fluency, and vocabulary skills
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to academic growth
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure the overall success of the program
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a K-8 setting
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional strategies
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to the position
Salary and Benefits:
- Pay rate: $22 - $26 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
- Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday afternoons/evenings, Saturday mornings)
