Teach middle school students in English (applicant should be qualified to teach grades 6-8) but may only be instructed to teach single-grade classes or a combination class (e.

, 6th grade and 7th).
*Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include:*
* Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field (preferred)
* 2 Years of Teaching Experience (as an MS Teacher or Teacher Aide)
* ESL Certification (preferred)
* Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills
* Applicants should be energetic and enthusiastic, displaying high patience and support.
* Applicants should be comfortable interacting with those of various backgrounds and professional levels, from parents to school administrators.
* Experience working with middle school students (preferred)
* Experience with English Language Learners / English as a Second Language (preferred)
* Applicant should be flexible and resourceful
* Applicant should be able to communicate well with students and families.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation.
* Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of English concepts related to ESL
* Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace.
* Communicate concerns or issues relating to any student to the Assistant Director.
* Provide future recommendations to the assistant director.
