POSITION SUMMARY: Vanguard University’s Department of Music/College of Arts & Sciences invites applicants for an Adjunct Professor qualified to teach the undergraduate, 3 unit course: Art Techniques for Teachers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Teach and manage the upper division course, Art Techniques for Teachers, for the Liberal Studies major.
Excellent oral communication skills.
Experience teaching art at the elementary or secondary level.
Provide instruction/guidance in creating in-class art projects that can be utilized in the classroom.
Ability to inspire potential non-art teachers they are creative and can connect art with their core class work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate degree required, with teaching credential, or MFA preferred.
Art experience and knowledge desirable.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Outstanding Christian character.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to lift 20 pounds.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with students, faculty, staff and general public.
Knowledge and acceptance of principles and philosophies of Vanguard University.
SALARY: The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3-unit course (144 total hours), and varies based on the faculty member’s highest earned degree.
Total compensation is based on the number of courses taught and corresponding units for each course.
$3,024 to $3,600
