*Full Job Description*
Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the basketball coach will manage all aspects of the women’s basketball program, providing leadership, and direction in the areas of compliance, academics, recruitment, program management, and public relations.
The candidate must demonstrate that he or she has a coaching philosophy that demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of our student-athletes.
In addition, the incumbent must also support, encourage, and monitor student-athletes academic progress.
Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics as needed.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
* *Bachelor’s* degree and two years of relevant professional experience.
* *OR* *Associate’s* degree and four years of relevant professional experience.
* A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students and other staff members.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
The successful candidate will be expected to*:*
* Follow the chain of command.
* Manage all aspects of the women’s basketball program and provide sound instruction to student athletes.
* Maintain a fiscally sound budget while scheduling contests, planning practices, games and travel, and in the hiring of assistant coaches.
* Recruit student athletes in such a manner that encourages diversity, while maintaining a competitive team.
* Manage the women’s basketball Program in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations along with the policies and procedures of Stanton University, its Athletics Department, and its intercollegiate governing body.
* Be involved in the academic success of student athletes by monitoring their academic progress and by working collaboratively with faculty and other staff members when student athletes need assistance.
* Perform public relations functions promoting athletes in a positive manner to the media, alumni, and community.
Work collaboratively with college administration to cultivate and promote donor relations to ensure the fund raising efforts are successful.
Maintain positive relationships with all feeder programs.
* Help the athletics department maintain good relations with other departments in the university.
* Participate in fundraising activities for the bastketball program and the athletics department.
* Attending department meetings and other athletics related activities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
*COMPENSATION*
This is a part time position with a pay range of $24,000 - $36,000 per month.
