We have an immediate need for an experienced, self-motivated Plumbing Trainer at any of the following locations; Brea, CA, Phoenix, AZ, and Denver, CO and will support multiple Brands/locations across our portfolio of companies.
The Plumbing Trainer is responsible for conducting training programs using our curriculum for our new trainees and certified installers.
They will work daily with our employees to advance their technical abilities, to round out their communication skills, and to teach them the fundamentals of Plumbing Service Calls.
The Plumbing Trainer will use their background and field experience to demonstrate how our trainees are to safely perform their service calls and handle all client interactions to maximize the customer service experience we provide.
This is an Exempt level position reporting to the Training Manager.
The Plumbing Trainer can expect to Travel 25-50% of their time to multiple centers for specialized training.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As the training area is one of constant change, the ideal candidate must be able to react positively and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training targeted to both new and existing employees.
Follow our existing training program and help develop and continue to improve our curriculum.
Coordinate and perform ride-along training.
Perform weekly evaluations of trainees in conjunction with other trainers to test the effectiveness of training.
Moderate and administer “hands-on” technical training.
Identify trainee technical/communication weaknesses and provide support and solutions; hold trainees to a high level of accountability.
Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze training effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
Consult with management to assess training needs; design, develop, implement, and deliver technical training programs for varying levels of employees to meet those needs.
Assist the Service Department as needed to provide even coverage and support for not only the Plumbing Division but our Maintenance Divisions as well.
Participate as a lead in all Plumbing and Service meetings.
Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the Plumbing Departments.
Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
Report on the progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their job description.
Make suggestions on improving work procedures.
Share in the interview process to identify new plumbing trainees.
Promote positive goodwill on behalf of Bell Bros.
to customers and employees alike while representing the company's core values.
Run client service calls in the field as required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS 3- 5 years of experience in residential or commercial plumbing service and repair.
Previous teaching or trainer experience preferred but not mandatory.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Ability to teach trainees how to engage with clients and communicate sales Requires initiative, motivation, creativity, and ability to understand many areas of expertise.
Ability to assess needs related to Bell Bros.
practices and procedures and produce training programs and materials to target these needs.
Leadership skills to effectively direct employees while in a training environment.
The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, trainees, and customers.
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to produce and deliver quality training programs.
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
Must be able to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.

Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
Experience in facilitating product and technical training.
Proven track record of training/teaching ability and success in service/ customer service businesses.
Knowledge of Windows, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel or similar programs required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The principal duties of this position are performed in various environments, including customer homes, the outdoors, and field environments at development and work sites on uneven and rough terrain.
Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods.
Requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills.
Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours daily on uneven, difficult terrain.
Occasional heavy manual labor includes lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
