Position: Academic Tutor Location: Corona, CA (In-person tutoring at students' homes) Role Type: Part-time and some full-time roles available
Responsibilities:
* Provide personalized academic tutoring for high school students (9th-12th grade) in math, science, and language arts.
* Employ diverse teaching methods to simplify complex concepts and drive tangible results in student achievement.
* Contribute to workshops, camps, and tutoring sessions aimed at enhancing students' STEM proficiency.
* Foster meaningful communication and engagement with students to ensure comprehension and progress.
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and learning styles effectively.
* Maintain proficiency in online teaching methods and virtual platforms, particularly Zoom, for remote tutoring sessions.
Requirements:
* Highly proficient in computer skills, with a typing speed of 50+ words per minute and expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Strong background in one or more of the following subjects: Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Language Arts (English, Literature), and Technology (Computer Science).
* Previous experience working with high school students and a proven track record of academic improvement preferred, with the ability to tailor lessons to students' individual needs.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and engage students effectively.
* Capacity to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and patient demeanor.
* Prior tutoring/teaching experience or related work is advantageous, especially in online teaching environments.
* Proficiency in remote teaching and engaging students effectively, with experience in Zoom and virtual teaching methods.
