Position The Department of Secondary Education in the College of Education at California State University, Fullerton is seeking a tenure track Assistant Professor of secondary teacher education with expertise and research interests related to Just, Equitable and Inclusive approaches to secondary teacher education generally, and the development, identities, and experiences of adolescent youth from across diverse backgrounds specifically, including the use of a disability studies framework to critique traditional approaches to general education inclusion.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual committed to promoting just, equitable, and inclusive education to teach in and contribute to leadership in the Single Subject Credential Program: In addition to teaching, this person will also be responsible for producing scholarship and creative works that contribute to the department and the profession commensurate with the requirements for tenure with a specific focus on adolescent development for diverse youth and the use of disability studies to examine, interrogate, and inform practices of inclusion in general education classrooms.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
CSUF faculty are committed teacher/scholars who bring research and creative discovery to life for students in classrooms, labs, studios, and individually mentored projects.

Required Qualifications Earned doctorate in Learning Sciences, Teacher Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field of education from an accredited institution (if ABD, doctorate must be completed by start date); Three (3) or more years of full-time public school teaching experience as a credentialed teacher at the secondary level (6-12); Scholarship and/or research related to critical disability studies involving the development, identities, and experiences of diverse adolescent youth, in the context of secondary education; Demonstrated advocacy for and/or work with communities historically underserved and marginalized by educational policies and practices; Demonstrated experience with supporting educators to meet the educational needs of linguistically and culturally diverse adolescents; and Ability to interact and work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse students, staff, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with California curriculum standards and policies; Record of scholarly publication in peer-reviewed journals; Experience working with multilingual/multicultural communities and evidence of a commitment to honoring plurilingualism and promoting language equity; Demonstrated experience in teaching in hybrid and online delivery formats, including use of rich media and interactive strategies; Demonstrated knowledge in named languages other than English (plurilingualism); and National Board Certification.

The College and Department The Department of Secondary Education offers programs for those who wish to pursue a career in teaching middle and high school (single subject credential) and those who wish to pursue a graduate degree in secondary education.
The faculty work together to prepare candidates in several subject area programs: Master of Secondary Education Single Subject Credentials Bilingual Authorization Teacher Induction Program Compensation The Assistant Professor (2024-2025) classification salary range is $5,405 to $11,994 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year).
The anticipated hiring range is $6,488 to $6,624 per month.
Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work ( Summer research grants, moving expenses, start‐up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
