JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking to hire an experienced Science instructor to provide instruction in science-related subjects ranging from Elementary School Science to High School AP Level Science.
Your role is to provide instruction, create lesson plans, facilitate classroom discussions, evaluate student performance, and promote a positive learning environment.
You will teach various science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
The Science Instructor’s will be collaborating with the Directors of Curriculum Development to create curriculum and lesson plans, as well as provide academic support to students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (required) Master's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred) 2-years' experience as an Science instructor or tutor (required) Science competition knowledge (preferred) Knowledgeable with AP Science content and tests Professional communication skills (both spoken and written) Proven experience assisting students with essay review Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
) Able to work independently and collaborate with a team Enthusiastic about working with students and parents Able to maintain strict confidentiality Highly organized and detail oriented (attention to detail and accuracy is imperative) Ability to meet schedules and deadlines Good judgement and decision-making abilities Good problem-solving skills Good planning skills Highly responsive Highly proactive Highly reliable Integrity JOB DUTIES: Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed Prepare students for science competitions Assess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areas Provide homework help as needed Able to lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students Good classroom management skills APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS & NEXT STEPS Interested candidates should apply for this position by completing an application on Indeed.
