The UCI Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center provides a wide range of education and advocacy services supporting intersectional identity development.
We foster community, wellness, an open and inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex, transgender, queer, asexual, ally, and questioning students, faculty, staff, and the larger campus community.
We strive to develop an atmosphere of acceptance and wellbeing in which the campus community can support the academic mission of the university.
Under the general supervision of the Director, using professional student services theories and concepts the incumbent is responsible for initiating, planning, and delivering ongoing and major programming for the LGBT Resource Center.
Works independently to provide information and interpretation of clearly defined policies, procedures and regulations.
Receives direction regarding more complex issues and / or program(s).
Identifies individual student needs for programs and services and advises on appropriate programs and resources in the LBGT Resource Center.
The incumbent will coordinate guest speakers, film series, and new programs related to sexual orientation and gender identity and will work closely with the Director and Program Coordinator on development and implementation of overall LGBT Resource Center goals and objectives.
The incumbent will create and coordinate student development programs and success projects and manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the LGBT Resource Center.

edu/ Required: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Interpersonal skills.
Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.
Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with, LGBTQQIA communities.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the intersections of race, ethnicity, class, gender and sexual orientation, ability and religion/spirituality as they relate to LGBTQQIA communities and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver support services and programs to address contemporary issues within a higher education environment.
Preferred: Master’s degree in college student personnel, student development, higher education administration counseling, LGBTQ studies or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Understanding of University rules and regulations.
