JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire an experienced AP Level History Instructor to provide instruction in all AP level related history classes such as AP US History, AP World History, AP Human Geography, AP Economics, and AP Government.
Our History Instructor’s responsibilities will include collaborating with the Director of Curriculum Development to create lesson plans and curricula, as well as provide academic support to students and prepare them for their AP exams at the end of the school year.
This is a Flexible, Part-Time opportunity.
As summer is approaching, we are looking for a History Instructor who can commit to working our summer sessions.
Hours in the summer can range from anywhere between 9am-3pm Monday-Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in History or any related field (required)
Master's degree in History or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
1 year experience as an AP History instructor or tutor (required)
Successful track record of developing student’s knowledge in AP level History classes (required)
Knowledgeable with AP History content and tests
Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
)
Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
Enthusiastic about working with students and parents
Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Highly organized and detail oriented (attention to detail and accuracy is imperative)
Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
Good judgement and decision-making abilities

JOB DUTIES:
Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed
Prepare students for the AP History Exam at the end of the year
Assess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areas
Provide homework help as needed
Able to lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students
Good classroom management skills
