Responsibilities:
1.
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the English and Social Science Department aligned with the overall educational goals of the institution.
Provide leadership in curriculum development, program assessment, and departmental initiatives.
2.
Faculty Management:
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the English and Social Science Department.
Foster a collaborative and innovative faculty culture, promoting professional development, research initiatives, and effective teaching practices.
3.
Teaching Excellence:
Champion teaching excellence within the department, emphasizing innovative and student-centered pedagogies.
Encourage the integration of technology and educational best practices in teaching methodologies.
4.
Curriculum Oversight:
Oversee the development and revision of English language, literature, Social Science, and teaching curricula, ensuring alignment with educational standards and industry trends.
Implement best practices in teaching and learning within the department.
5.
Student Engagement and Success:
Collaborate with faculty to create an enriching and supportive learning environment for students.
Monitor student performance and implement strategies to enhance student success, retention, and interest in social science, literature and language studies.
6.
Resource Allocation:
Manage departmental resources, including budgets, facilities, and equipment.
Work with administration to secure funding for departmental projects, teacher training initiatives, and educational technology.

Program Assessment:
Establish and implement assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of Social Science , English language and literature programs.
Analyze data to make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
8.
Collaboration and Outreach:
Collaborate with other department heads and administrators to enhance interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly those bridging language and literature studies.
Foster relationships with external partners, industry professionals, and educational institutions.
9.
Compliance and Accreditation:
Ensure departmental compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead the preparation of reports for accreditation processes.
Qualifications:
Ph.
D.
or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field within English language, literature or Social Science.
Previous leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably in a dean or department chair role.
Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
2+ years of curriculum development experience.
At least 5+ years of work experience in the education industry.
Valid CA Teaching credential (Preferred)
