*SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED:* The Community Schools Assistant Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer or designee and is responsible for community outreach, coordinating events, developing community partnerships, and recruiting students for the Santa Ana campus.
The Community Schools Assistant Coordinator position is part-time, temporary, and the hours may vary from 10-15 per week.
Must be available on evenings and weekends.
*JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Attend and participate in recruitment and other school events to inform the community about the opportunities in attending NOVA academy.
* Speak and present to small or large groups of parents and students at feeder schools, non-profit organizations, community events, churches, and other public groups.
* Interact with prospective students and parents, feeder schools, non-profit organizations, community organizations, and other community leaders on social media, contribute to the development of new partnerships.
* Follow up with parents, guardians, and student leads; provide guidance for attending NOVA.
* Assist in developing a pipeline or list of students interested in attending NOVA the following school year.
* Prepare for and attend recruitment events; bring marketing materials, giveaways or other supplies; set- up/take down tables, canopies, and other event items as needed.
* Collect and document parent and community feedback to inform school leaders on the recruitment and marketing strategies and practices.
* Collaborate with the school leaders on recruitment and/or marketing strategies.
* Communicate verbally and in writing with parents and the community, which may include phones calls, emails, and/or via social media.
* Perform other student-recruitment related projects and tasks as needed.
*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * * Commitment to NOVA Academy’s mission and values.
* Must believe in the value of a NOVA Academy education and have the ability to share that vision and belief with others enthusiastically.
* Strong relationship building skills with the ability to engage diverse parents’ groups, students and community stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, innovative, with strong communication and organizational skills.
* At least 2 or more successful years in a sales, customer service, or a community-related position.
* Bilingual (specifically English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
* Reliable transportation is required; Valid CA driver’s license.
* DOJ and FBI criminal record clearance; Valid TB test or TB Risk Assessment _This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employee may perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management as required.
