*Job Overview:*
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Camp Instructor to lead our Camp program, designed for elementary school students entering grades 3 through 6.
The Camp Instructor will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities focused on *Chess, Board games and some physical activity*, ensuring a fun and enriching experience for campers.
This position requires a passion for working with children, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
*Responsibilities:*
* *Develop Curriculum:* Design and develop a camp plan /curriculum that includes age-appropriate activities, lessons, and games centered around Chess, Problem Solving Skills, and physical activities.
Some supporting resources may be available.
* *Lead Activities:* Lead daily camp sessions, including chess lessons, brain teasers, ensuring activities are engaging, interactive, and aligned with camp objectives.
* *Instruction:* Provide instruction and guidance to campers, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork.
* *Supervision:* Supervise campers during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Maintain a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where campers feel encouraged to participate and express themselves.
* *Assessment:* Monitor camper progress and participation, providing feedback and support as needed to facilitate learning and growth.
* *Collaboration:* Collaborate with fellow instructors to coordinate activities, share resources, and maintain a cohesive camp environment.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper progress and any relevant information.
* *Administrative Tasks:* Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as attendance tracking, organizing supplies, and preparing materials for activities.
*Qualifications:*
* Experience working with elementary school-aged children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting.
* Strong knowledge and skills in teaching Chess.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with campers and co-instructors of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
* Enthusiasm for creating a fun and positive learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced camp environment.
* CPR/First Aid certification and fingerprinting check will be required.
*Schedule:*
Camp runs for 3 weeks during the June 2024 , with half-day sessions held from Monday to Friday.
The Camp Instructor is expected to be available during camp hours and may be required to attend to minor administrative tasks offline .

- Associates degree/ credits.
- Experience in teaching Chess to beginners.
- Previous experience working with children or students in a group setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Experience in tutoring, childcare, babysitting, or sports coaching is a plus
- Familiarity with special education practices is beneficial
