It was the Baja race bike that was a major update from the air-cooled XR600 – more power and less weight! It has a kick-starter with no electric start and a 5-speed transmission.
Even though it’s heavy compared to modern 450 dirt bikes, it was built to be light and fast for off-road desert racing, but still, be good for dual sport riding.
