*Preschool Teacher Job Description:*
* Plans, supervises and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with the policies and philosophy of Big Sky Preschool.
* Ensures the safety of the environment; documents all incidents involving injury, behavioral problems, and/or any unusual events; and communicates as appropriate to Center Director and parents.
* Demonstrates the ability to exercise control, maintain classroom discipline, and instructs children on the appropriate use of equipment and materials.
* Prepares materials and classrooms to implement daily curriculum activities.
* Maintains a classroom environment as it relates to Community Care Licensing regulations and ECERS quality standards.
* Complete and maintain reports.
Documentation of Diaper changing log, sanitizing logs, health checks, ratios, meal counts, injury reports, incident reports, and DRDPs.
* Responsible for meeting all licensing regulations, school policies and procedures.
* Responsible for conducting a DRDP assessments on each child within 60 days of their start date and every 6 months thereafter.
* Maintains all Title 22 safety standards
* Provides and maintains a pleasant, safe, and clean learning environment for children
* Create lesson plans that specify themes, activities and learning centers where experiences in art, large and small motor physical development, dramatic play, science, language (both receptive and expressive), nutrition/health, social-emotional, and multi-cultural competency.
* Develop a daily schedule that allows for a variety of activities that support all aspects of the child development including indoor and outdoor supporting large and small/fine motor development.
* Attend workshops, conferences, trainings, or in-service staff development opportunities as recommended and/or provided that enhances skills knowledge in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and as required to maintain the appropriate and required Child Development Permit.
* Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
Qualifications
* Minimum 24 ECE units with 3 units in infant and toddler
* Maintain a current and valid EMSA approved Pediatric First Aid/CPR Card
* Two years experience working with children in a center based learning environment mainly with toddlers.
* Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the center.
