Loving Savior Preschool is seeking caring and dependable Teacher Assistants that love to work with children ages 2 1/2 - 5.
We are a highly established Christian preschool in our community and we would love to have you join our team!
*Preferred Education:*
* At least 6 Early Childhood units completed and must be enrolled until a minimum of 12 EC units have been met.
*Fulfill general staff requirements and responsibilities such as:*
Assist teachers in the classrooms as needed working as a team and anticipating needs including but not limited to:
* Assist with art by helping to set up the art experience itself and clean up.
* Assist with children’s activities by sitting with a child who needs special attention, lovingly drawing the child into the group or helping to select a different activity.
* Monitor a learning center even if it is only creating interest in puzzles, magnets, shells, magnifying glass, etc.
* Assist with snack and lunch by helping to prepare or distribute the food.
Clean up spills, wash table and sweep floor if necessary.
* Assist with bathroom potty accidents by helping child change clothes, pull-ups and diapers, potty training.
Clean the bathroom if necessary.
* Provide an extra pair of eyes and hands to assist the teacher in monitoring playground activity.
* Provide breaks for the teachers
* Help set up cots for rest time and monitor the table, bathroom and cot transition.
* Help maintain a clean and cozy environment for the children.
* Help in regular cleaning of cots, sheets, blankets and towels.
* Help clean, maintain and prepare the outside area as well as common school areas ensuring children’s safety.
* Maintain tracking sheets and be aware of children in your care at all times.
* Serve lunches
* Assist with office duties such as photocopying, putting items in portfolios, and laminating.
* Ability to share Jesus’ love, not only through Bible stories and songs, but through loving care, soft spoken directions and correction, kindness, and interest in each child.
* Be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, show Christian concern for all, maintain confidences and be respectful of others, adults as well as children.
* Be physically and emotionally healthy, poised, punctual, enthusiastic, understanding, insightful, patient, tolerant, dependable, and appropriately dressed for your position.
* Provide a safe learning environment where children are free to explore, discover, create and have fun.
* Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with the center’s policy on discipline.
Use soft spoken, caring correction and redirection.
* Always supervise children, keeping watchful eyes on them ensuring their safety and well-being and tending to any problems or individual needs documenting as needed.
* Help to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the preschool facility.
* Always work with children, parents and fellow staff members in a caring professional manner.
Be positive, flexible, cooperative, helpful and supportive with staff, children and parents.
* Practice for and lead children in disaster drills.
* Report suspected child abuse or neglect as mandated by law.
* Be enthusiastic and supportive of Christian education, modeling Christian conduct and attitude.
