Responsibilities:
Teach and coach after-school program up to 18 hours per week per cohort during the academic year, September through June.
Activities include sports, STEAM clubs, home work support.
Other activities include mentoring discussions, team building activities, leadership training and professional skills.
Attend and supervise occasional weekend activities for students on field trips and academic support.
Manage cohort of 25-30 students by creating a dynamic learning environment for diverse learners
Behavior management of students when applicable
Attend orientation, staff meetings, and professional development workshops
Regularly communicate with parents and teachers regarding student progress
Complete weekly reports and attendance to be submitted to Program Manager
Communicate as necessary with After School Supervisor regarding concerns with student progress, health and safety
Setting up/breaking down equipment and storage of equipment
At least 2 years of experience working with youth ages 14 or younger in a counseling or coach capacity
College degree (preferred), some college experience (preferred)
Effective classroom management skills
Experience motivating and engaging high school students
A participant in action sports
A leader, professional in demeanor and able to communicate clearly
Reliable, hardworking, kind and dependable
Available in the afternoons
